Which is the fastest way to get genuine?

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I was sure it is genuine, I had it from my family home, but It is meant for one pc only. So it is not working now - it is not genuine.

I want to get genuine - and my question is - which is the cheapest and fastest way to do it?
I do not need Windows for more computers than one, and I do not need to transfer it to other pc in the future. Is something like dell oem (on ebay) best choice for me? are there any disadventages?

Second - and most important, more than price - which is the fastest way? I've put a lot of time and effort to set all programs, settings, everything in my system. Even some system files and folders are modified, added or deleted. Clean install is impossible for me. Which way will allow me to not do clean install / use full backup of hdd content?

Oh thanks, I was searching with incorect keywords I will purchase it at the end of the week. And... If I will install (in the future) any build, from any cd or download, of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 or 64 - on this machine - I will be able to activate it by this key? Or I need to use backup of this one I have right now only? Thank you

The key is good for any install with the same edition (e.g. Home Premium). But be aware there are no more Windows 7 downloads on the web. I suggest you make an image when your system is all set and periodically repeat the images to be up-to-date.

I am sure there is a lot of "safe copies" on torrent sites And will be there for many many years. Or pirated systems can not be activated?

Torrents are no on my menu. But if you want to take your chances, why not. I have 2 spare Windows 7 installation discs. So I am covered.

Btw - that may be an option for you. Buy an OEM installation disc and use that key on your current system. Then you have the disc in the backhand. In the US they cost $99.

The CD I have, is copied from another one, i do not remember from where I've got it. But it was multi intall. I've chosen Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Then, I've bought key on windows-oem.com. But when I try to activate (from options from "not genuine" message), after some of loading I'm receiving error Acces is denied 0x80070005. Any ideas how can I fix it? I havetried already to use slmgr, but it seems this file is missing from my system. Nor recognized everytime D:

The Key you purchased isn't wrth the paper it's written on - it's counterfeit. The ONLY site you could ever purchase Key-only Windows installs from was Microsoft - and they only ever sold full retail and Upgrade licenses.

I do not understand what does it mean, do it have anything with access denied error?
I managed to rename slmgr file so it works fine now, but still access error.
It is too late now to buy anything else, I bought what I was advised to. I am pretty sure windows-oem will not get me money back because I've seen the key. I am rich now, but not THAT rich.
Any advices what about was that error code? What else can I do before calling microsoft?
(This post was 10x longer, but the forum seems to be bugged, it said that token expired and deleted all my post I was writing for 10-15 minutes... This is just compressed version)

It's simple and really doesn't need a lot of post to ponder it.

You need to buy a legal copy of Windows 7 with a legal COA key. Their has got to be some place in London to buy Windows 7.

windows-oem.com have been crooks for years.

And how is the chance that it will work? MAybe error is unrelated, and that key will not work as well? Maybe I should buy 10000 of windows keys, MAYBE some will work? That is not the right way... (+ ticket to london that will cost almost like new oem key... no way)

What I'am asking for, is some hints what is that error, and should I call microsoft? You are like a doctor, who instead of diagnose the problem, will give you all possible drugs to try. Of course, that will damage your health, and will cost fortune, but who cares?

Thanks. If the windows-oem team will not help me, that is some way. in middle of july, I would have enough money to do this. But... How can I check if it will work this time? That error code is present if I'm trying to update my key, use slmgr ipk / ato / rearm. Noone is saying anything about this error, just BUY BUY BUY. I am pretty sure I will buy another one, and another, and non will work until I will fix that "elevated privileges"... And after it will be fixed, I will have 10 genuine keys, and die of starvation...

Until you get a legal installed Windows 7 their is no help.
The first step is installing a Legal Windows 7 with the proper key.

A thousand counterfeits will do you no good but one legal one will.

As I said before - this is not possible to install anything. Activating windows is not worth to spend 2 months or more, configuring everything again. I was googling multiple times, and I didn't found any application that would let me backup all installations / settings etc. In that case, after buying retail in july, I would be able to use my system in september, sacrificing all my free time.
And I do not need retail, why there are other licenses, if you can't use them? This machine is perfect now, genuine windows may be soulbound to this one, i have not any problems if it could be...
