Hi everyone,

Just scored a new HP which will arrive the first week of June, so now I just need to pick a mail client (moving back to PC from a year with Apple), to suit my Hotmail/Live email.

Its either

-Windows Live Mail (from the Live Suite)
or
-MS Outlook

From what I gather, Live Mail Desktop is lightweight, and does basic email (all I need). Outlook is a bit more "pro", but I don't need this to sync with a Windows Phone 7 if I get one, right? Live Mail Desktop will do everything I need, and probably be a bit faster, so that's the direction I'd lean, but I'm just curious if anyone with Hotmail has thoughts on this.

Cheers,
smc

Since my rig is pretty fast, I vote for neither. Personally, I use Gmail online and it suits MY needs. It also syncs perfectly with my Android smartphone, along with my contacts and calendar.

And from what I've read, if you want to sync your email onto your phone, you will need an Exchange ActiveSync compatible email account and that's it (which Hotmail is). Exchange ActiveSync will work without needing to interact with software on the computer. You just tell it what your credentials are (in this case your Live ID and password) and you're set.
