I have a small FTP Server for 6 of my clients to have offsite nightly backups. This is it's sole purpose and it's running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Version which seems such a waste? Data transfer during the night totals 500-600Mb Max
I was thinking of rather downgrading the Server to either XP Pro, Server 2003 or Windows 7 (I have stock of all these OS'es). My Clients are using Cobian Backup 10 and My Server FTP App is Filezilla Server. I would love to try Ubuntu Server but I'm getting a bit old to learn new tricks. I'm only just getting my Newbie feet wet in the Networking environment.
All advice is appreciated
