Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.4GHz (8MB L2 Cache) - Q6600

or

Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66GHz (4MB L2 Cache) Q8400

From my computer knowledge the Q6600 is better over the Q8400. Someone tell me otherwise? I will be gaming, YouTube videos

I have the Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66GHz Q8400 and cant complain, has been brilliant for me...but please bare in mind before that I was on a P4 so there was quite a difference in performance for me.

I cant compare it to the Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.4GHz - Q6600 as I don't know any different

Thanks for the reply. I like your positive input on the specific processor. I haven't had/used many processor's to compare it myself, which led me to the comparison benchmarks.

I've had:
Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.4GHz - Q6600 - PC
Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66Ghz - Q8400 (Haven't used) - PC
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.26 - Mac
Intel Pentium 4 @ 1.46 - PC
PowerPC G4 @ 1.33GHz - Mac

cache performance and size has nothing to do with the size of the transistors. You'll see a mixed bag of performance tests - the processor with the larger cache will work better in some applications than the higher speed processor and vice versa.
