Hello Everybody,
Yesterday I was getting trouble from my pendrive while copying file to other PC.Few files get copied and for others it get stuck and explorer says "Not Responding" so i tried to format and my laptop got freezed.
After restarting it stopped at logo several times .I noticed when i start the laptop the dell logo appears for longer time then usual so i gave some time to start and it got started but can't do anything as the cursor keeping on rolling .This happened ocassionally but freeze at dell logo and at window 7 logo all the time.

I tried using safe mode but failed to start.
Also I tried startup repair but no result.
One more thing I notice is "HDD led is constant rather blinking"

What should i do to make my laptop alive.

That's why I specificed to use the Partition Wizard CD. Download the ISO and right click it to burn to CD with Windows Image Burner. Boot to run test as shown in video link.

First time I've seen Seatools not work on another brand HD. Thanks for reporting it.

PW should confirm the HD condition sufficiently.

You should now backup your files on a usb drive other than the one that could have caused the problem in the first place. I will wait for Greg to tell you what to do next.

Confirm the HD condition. If HD is confirmed bad, replace it with an SSD which is the best upgrade one can get for Win7 - even faster than buying an expensive new PC. Google your model for a video on how to replace hard drive. Be extremely careful not to drop screws inside or allow static shock to jump to electronics.

Then do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Read the Special Note To Dell Owners at the end.

Hi gregrocker ,

Is it overheating? This can cause a laptop to shut down. Make sure the vents are clean and clear, elevated if necessary to get plenty of air under and in them. You may be able to monitor the temps in BIOS setup, or if you can get it installed by installing Core Temp to place readings in the System Tray.

Did the other Dell Diagnostics pass, just the hard drive fail? Try running them again to confirm the diagnosis.

Consider an SSD which is the best upgrade one can get, even faster than buying a new high-end PC. You can google a video for replacing your PC model's hard drive with an SSD or another HD.

Eventually Bought New hard Drive and problem is solved
