WhiteBox Question

Hey again. I'm getting a whitebox for my new system, as I already have a legit copy of windows 7 ultimate.
Is there any other issues I should know about when it comes to a whitebox?
Do I have to install all drivers for everything then?
I mean BIOS and all?

It will have a BIOS, whether it's the latest one is another question.

If you're getting a new system with no OS, then you will have to install everything - drivers and all.

For $250 bucks I would come over to your house and gladly spend a couple hours setting it up for you.

Yes, it's worth it.

(You have to pay my travel expenses, too.)

Haha I have done a clean install of windows before, when i went from xp to vista.
I formatted the drive when I installed back then, so this is gonna be pretty much the same as that right?
I remember getting the network, sound, graphics drivers and BIOS, but not much more.

Exactly the same.

Usually the hardest part of any clean install is getting your data (documents, pictures, music, saved games, etc) plugged back in to the right places. Installing all your programs takes some time, too.

I remember getting the network, sound, graphics drivers and BIOS, but not much more.

Don't forget the Chipset drivers. I'd do that one first.

As far as that goes, with the possible exception of the video card, the drivers Win7 will install for you usually are quite serviceable.

As far as the drivers Microsoft spent a lot of money to make sure most companies prepared drivers for Windows Seven, you'll most likely find Windows will install most of the drivers needed to get your system up and running,the only driver I needed to install was for my TV tuner card , but then I of course updated my chipset and video card drivers.
For any others just go to the manufacturers site and download them. If you have any trouble finding them we're hear to help.
As far as the bios I would be really surpized to find out your MB didn't come with one.
I think you'll find setting it up to be a lot easier than you think. Fabe Oh forgot Ihad to install my Audigy 2zs drivers as well.

Just a suggestion that would be better for you.
You already have a thread running about what you are buying why not keep it all together where we can advise if the parts etc will cause problems with your install.
