Who do I create DVDs from my recovery manger on HP to restore it.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 3170se i7 intel proccesor.

I want to create a DVD from the Recovery Manger program, but the option is not avalible, it wont let me press it.

Can somone give me a fix or suggest an alternative way to restore the laptop to its factory settings.

Currently running Windws 7 ultimate x64, if its any help.

I did look at them. And none of them work because the recovery manger says no recovery partition exists.

You should be able to trigger the Recovery Partition to run from boot using the F11 key, if the Recovery manager will not work to do so after Anytime Upgrade.

However the best Recovery option for your situation is a backup image made of your upgraded Ultimate install after Upgrade when it is running best. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

Remember that HP has the worst load of preinstalled factory crapware in the industry, so I'd consider Clean Reinstalling Win7 Home Premium then Anytime Upgrading again if you really need the few extra features in Ultimate.

I'll start on doing that now, but I have a 1 TB removable hard disk. Can I use tthat to put on it the Image backup? or does it have to be completely empty?

To be more specific, all I really want is to format my PC, ( I dont want anything from it). Then install a new copy of windows 7. Any simple guides?

Thing is, I dont want any media from my PC, all I want is to reformat as if I just bought it.

If you want to restore to the exact condition as PC came from store then Restore the PC to its original condition using the f11 key.

If this fails order Factory Recovery disks from HP Tech Support which will do the same plus reinstall the Recovery Partition so it works correctly. These disks should have been made when the PC was set up, or at latest before you Anytime Upgraded.

If you don't want the preinstalled factory bloatware and useless HP utilities which have much better versions built into Win7, then follow these Clean Reinstall steps to reinstall just the WIn7 OS with a Win7 installer we can help you obtain.
