Who is your Internet Provider

AT&T bought DirectTV
They tied to buy Dish Network but failed to do so which is what I had before U-Verse
All I had with AT&T was DSL with Dish Network which this was a okay combo but storms made watching anything not a great experience
So I doubt I would ever use DirectTV

Yea Roku :/ my nephew has one spotty at best but I figured it was the cheaper roku box he had ?
He said it was about 40-50 bucks
I looked at some and they were pretty pricy 140.us

Ah, maybe that explains why they are now being aggressive with me about trying to collect an early-disconnect fee after they had broken our deal -- breach of contract -- and I had cancelled altogether!

We have a Roku2 XS with an USB port and some added memory, and the only additional element available in the latest, higher-priced versions is some kind of fancier menu system. However, we do have it connected with a LAN wire since it did not do as well with WLAN as I had hoped.

Come to think about it my nephew is using his mostly via wifi is probably why the streaming is spotty at best,
That and internet connection and speed of it will either make or break any quality = pixilation...

I live on the second floor so I might look into antenna and over the air box for local stuff :/

You always have to think roku... might be eventually blocked by isp's when they offer t.v. services ;)

I am also with Telus, which is Canadian. All in all, they've been pretty good. The CRTC recently passed legislation that forces the cable providers to offer pic & pay options for your tv choices, instead of forcing bundles on you. Takes effect late this year. Should prove interesting.

Verizon DSL for internet service. Zero complaints, and only two outages in 8 years.
Comcast is the cable system in my city but my family does not subscribe. Roof antenna, baby!

Cox expects that. They jack you up 20 or 30 bucks per month every year for their phone/TV/Internet bundled "deals" and you are then expected to call customer service and beg, plead, and threaten to drop them until after 20 minutes you get a deal maybe 5 or 10 bucks higher. Everyone I know goes through that as a matter of course. It's demeaning, pathetic, and infuriating.
.

AT&T is the same way too
They're getting really weird with U-Verse billing but still better than dealing with Comcast
:)

But this year I may switch to a Roku or what ever the darn thing is and get rid of U-Verse and keep the internet only

For what's on t.v. it would be better just to steam Netflix...

ThrashZone what do you mean by Att weird U-verse billing?

I have done a clean install of Windows 7 using Dell re-installation disk (Dell sent me one). I also use Free Macrium reflect backup and restore.
I'm sure AT&T and other big names offer their service here in Puerto Rico, but people mostly get the local providers (from what I know anyway). DMAX, Claro, Choice and Liberty. We have the latter here at our house.
