Just wondering why ? It's such a popular media format and I have to use a third party such as PowerDVD to play Blurays.

Does it have to do with copyright acts or whatever ?

I am sure most normal pc's cannot handle Bluray, infact Microsoft are the most widely used os for home and business computing. No os have native support for Bluray.

OS Statistics

Microsoft only just had support for dvd's in XP but still then you required a codec to play dvd's on WMP.

Even HD-DVD never got support on Windows Vista (when it was not dead)

So If I understand correctly MS doesn't want to partner with Apple on this one ? :p
