Why does Craig's List have to suck so much?

I have only had one legitimate response. The rest has been trolls sending me links to click under some bs guise to confirm if it's the same product they're looking for. Or they ask for other info that they don't need to make a purchase. Man it's really aggravating.

Craigs list is the Flea mall of the internet. As such it is frequented by trolls preying on unsuspecting sellers and Princes from Nigeria that have millions of dollars to give out.

Now for advice: Posting is also an art. you have to use key words in your description and hope it stands out. include pics if possible. after about 20 minutes it will be hidden at the bottom of the page so its a little hard to be seen. Also focus on posting at key times like at 10:00 am when people start surfing or at night after dinner so it seen at the top during higher traffic times

I am selling an item on Craig's List. I am ranting about trolls and scammers sending me bogus ways of trying to get my information or trying to get me to click on links to their email so they can spam me. You know the usual M O of these people.

Craigslist does not like the actions your are experiencing and you should report the perps by contact the customer support side and passing along the email addy's and let legal handle it.

You have to be very specific in the way you post things, if you have an item that you could take a digital photo of I would do this and make sure you follow the size format they ask for. I have friends, and neighbors, who have done well there even selling automobiles, I've used it 3 or 4 times, 2 times to give stuff away and 1 time buying.

Use an email address that you can dispose of once you have sold the item successfully. I used to be with AOL, and I still had an active email address there. I had configured Outlook to work with AOL and my current provider, but I have since deleted the AOL account due to the number of SPAM emails that I was receiving in it.

Lot's of folks use CL much like a flea market or yard sale where the prices are often inflated or what might seem out of whack. If you have a set price in mind it might be better to approach it like I do when representing items for customers on eBay. I use the But it Now or best offer system.

The Buy it Now price in your case would be the $400 you have in your listing the best offer allows for the lowballer bids, i.e. say $350 is your drop dead price then it is set up to notify the lowballer their bid has been rejected. When you list something say for the $400 you are and $350 is the least you'd take then write it $400 or best offer above $350 and ignore anything that is under it and save yourself the frustration, best of luck.
