I have recently got a new laptop with a GeForce GT 520M, and for some reason my DxDiag doesnt seem to register the fact that it's there, as you can see below.

I have got the nVidia Drivers installed as well as Intel HD Graphics installed.

I'm worried that this is affecting my laptops performance.

Please help!

Thanks,
StubbyHS

Hello stubby,

At first glance I would say this was correct but I need the complete laptop model name and number to be sure

I believe some laptops do this to save on battery power. During normal usage, the Intel adapter would be used, but if you kicked off a game or something 3D intensive, the Nvidia chip would fire up and handle the task.

This is exactly what it is and why both are there. Also known as switchable graphics, or as Nvidia likes to call it "Optimus Technology" (like they invented it or something). Do yourself a favor and don't delete/uninstall the Intel driver, that is if you want the laptop to continue to work correctly.
