Hi,

I bought the phone and everything is fine except this problem.
I could open pdf files coming through the gmail and could open with any pdf reader like adobe,mi reader etc.
But I could not attach a pdf to send to some one in my contact in gmail.
I have checked the gmail settings and there is no separate settings for attachment in gmail android
I have removed cache and data.
I have removed my gmail account and added and tried.
But I could not attach a pdf ile.
If I send something from whatsapp to share with gmail, the attachement is seemed to have attached but you cannot click. The file is like text file without pdf icon. The file name is shown as mere typed text instead of pdf attachement.
I approached mi.com help but they say, that problem is in gmail.
Had anybody come across such things as this is a new problem to me.
please say the solution

Hi, w2 thanks for the response. Your link may belp windows pc.But in android I tried everything and one such thread help me found the issue. This you could not imagine but worked . Will give the link. The phone was Redmi note and it is having miui interface.
When I see annoying popups, i want to get rid of those popups. It has taken a lot effort to get it done. I have disabled some google features as well as Mi settings adjustment.
One such adjustment, is turning off the Miui optimization. Normally Optimization is the extra improvement to a system. But turning off, i could see the annoyance pop has gone but this feature of attaching has also gone.
Thanks for a gmail expert, who has given this tip to one of the gmail users which has also fixed my problem.
I just enabled the developer option and then scrolling to the bottom to find the miui settings and then enabled it and then bingo, everything works perfectly.
The answerer is a real genius.
Unable to attach files to email Xiaomi mi 11 - Gmail Community .I have tried so many fixes.
please see the thread link

I'm glad you got your problem resolved. You should check this thread as solved. In regards to my link, I assumed the PDF files were in Windows and you were trying to send them via your phone which was linked to the pc.
