Why the changes with Windows 7?

I just posted a request for help with my Windows 7 computer.

Wondering why Microsoft changed from the XP type of logon. It worked.
Even when I forgot the password.

Since I am the only one using the computer and it is not normally connected
to the internet (use this LINUX computer for internet access) there is really
no need to have a password.

I was told by the tech that I had to have a password (which is okay if I don't
have to keep changing it - or as in this case it stops working).

Type user account, in search by the start button.
Then go to remove password.

Good if you decide to restore the password at a later time.

1. I would remove your e-mail address from your post for privacy reasons.
2. The tech is a complete idiot.
