why upgrade to 10?

One of my concerns is that if i do the free upgrade then next year when i have to reformat my hd I wont be able to use the Dell reinstall cd, it has 7 on it. Will 10 free still be available?
I am from the school, "If it aint broke..."

The first install of windows 10 must be an upgrade of a valid activated operating system

Once this is done you can download an ISO which may be used to install a fresh copy of windows 10 on that system.

As you have a dell system which may have bespoke software for specific functionality, I would advise that you obtain a complete set of these installers from dell, if you do not already have a dell drivers disk, before you do a fresh install

Hi,
I believe you have 1 year to decide and figure out a restore plan
Plus wait for win 10 to mature and manufacture to catch up and work the bugs out of drivers

Otherwise 10 is on sell too at the moment I believe it's only a download but eventually a disk will be available so the process is more straight forward and you can have both as separate installs.
