I also never have used autocomplete.
I really don't like auto doing anything.
I don't even use auto updates for programs.

I do think many do use autocomplete.
They just want to pop the old computer out of Sleep or Hibernation (I don't use either) and let it do what it wants to.

I do use and like Sleep and Hibernation.
As far as I know it just restores my system to the state it was in before sleeping.
Yes, that includes running tasks that did not run because/while it was sleeping, I understand that.

Is using sleep/hibernation a security concern ?

To me it's not necessary because it no longer takes a lot of time to start a computer. It's done in a few seconds.
Sleep/hibernation uses a lot of resources/space.
Booting a computer refreshes things and also gets rid of many things that have built up. When the computer is off it uses zero power and no mater what programs want to do ; update or scan ect. It can't do it without your permission.
To me if a computer is connected to the internet and on in any fashion it is a security risk. I'm not there to monitor what is going on.

found this over on the lastpass forums. “We make an effort to avoid filling into hidden fields, but it could be possible for a site to use advanced CSS techniques to end up with a field that is technically visible, but (for example) is rendered off the screen.
I personally generally work around this by having a form fill profile without sensitive data (I call it “No Financial Info”), and I use that form fill profile when I’m filling into a page that I know I don’t want to provide sensitive data to.”

Peter, as far as the harvesting of personal data goes, I'm afraid that governments are just as guilty as the "legitimate businesses" of which you speak. In this country we are finding out government agencies like the NSA have been spying on American citizens for years (not to mention spying on other countries.) I suspect that all governments have harvested personal data for years. Asking a government to intercede is kinda like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

Agreed.
However, the Government's entire "business model" isn't based on selling personal info to criminals and marketers, unlike the big tech companies (Apple, Google, MS, etc.).

At least with the Government, you get to replace one lot of "corrupt scumbags" with the other lot of "corrupt scumbags", every few years.
You don't get that option with "legitimate business" executives.

I wasn't going to bring that issue up again, especially as a bunch of Republicans just appeared on TV stating that it is the US' God-given right to spy on anyone they want, for whatever reason, so suck it up.

I notice some Europeans are now waking up to the fact that all of this Internet hacking/spying has little to do with locating terrorists (Angela Merkel is a terrorist?).

Of course I doubt that Europe will take any action, apart from whining.
If they were seriously upset, they'd cancel the trade talks and rip up ACTA, etc.

US businesses would be appalled, "The NSA's incompetence is costing us money!"
They'd lean on the Government to "pull their heads in" (or at least having the spying programs run by more competent/discrete individuals).
