I am using Windows 7 32-bit SP1 with a Belkin 54G USB Adapter, sometimes when I boot it does not connect..but rare,
but ALL the time if the computer puts itself too sleep the wifi will not connect when I come out of sleep, sometimes a troubleshoot & repair will sort it, sometimes it wont and say its access point - but if I put the comp too sleep then wake it shortly after the wi-fi is working? seems to be when the computer sleeps it
things I've tried:
1. I have changed the WI-FI adapter settings so windows can not turn it off too save power.
2. I done the same in the power settings within windows "Maximum Performance"
3. the WLAN service is set to Automatic
now I had been playing with Windows 7 Manager program and it somehow (wasnt my choice) removed the wi-fi icon from my tray, sometimes when I boot its there, sometimes it isn't, I used a reg fix to restore the icon - its been since all this I have noticed it the wifi issue, but also I have stopped a lot of services running at boot and Iam wondering if thats why? however I would have thought it would not work at all if that were the case.
can anyone help with this?
I can not use standby or hibernate
I dont have a restore point either cos I have had a freeze and had to force a shutdown and lost all restore points (this is common in windows)
just to recap: its not just sleep, sometimes booting up as normal and wi-fi wont connect
thanks
