Widnows 7 Backup fails after MOVING My Pictures, My Videos... etc...

Windows 7 Backup worked fine on my Windows 7 Ultimate setup here at home.

I had a Drive C: on one hard drive, with my User Account on that drive, along with my data (Documents, Pictures, video, Music, etc...) under that account. Everything backed up great.

My Backup drive is on Drive D:, which is another hard disk physically separate from drive C: My data was backed up there great.

I started to run out of room on my D: drive for backups (I had HUGE video files on C. So I copied the Video files to DVD's and stored them off of the PC.

But I also wanted to fix it up so I could created a Image Backup (I couldn't do that before becuase of the lack of space on the D: drive).
So.....

I repartitioned the C: drive so as to create a new L: logical drive (about 300 Gigs). I then MOVED the Pictures, Videos (some small ones that were left there), and Music to the L: drive using the MOVE function in the Libraries ....

this is how I did it from
Windows 7 - Moving My Documents

1) Click on the Start button and then click on Documents
2) In the left panel of the Libraries\Documents window, click on the arrows to expand Libraries>Documents>My Documents (C:\Users\[User Name])
3) Right click on My Documents and then click on Properties in the menu that opens.
4) In the My Documents Properties window, click on the Location tab
5) Click on the Move button in the Location tab of the My Documents Properties window.
6) Navigate in the Select a Destination window to the location where you would like the My Documents folder located
7) Create a new folder. Name it whatever you would like. (I used My Pictures, My Music and My Videos)
8) Click on the Select Folder button and then click on the OK button in the My Documents Properties window.
9) Click on the Yes button in the Move Folder warning window that pops up, since the objective is to move the My Documents folder.
10) It may take some time to move the contents of the My Documents folder, so be patient...
11) When it has finished moving the contenets of the My Documents folder, you can close the Libraries > Documents window

So I moved my data to the new folders on L:

Cool...

Then I cleaned off my old backups on D: and reran my widnows 7 backup.

Not so cool. The old stuff under my user account was backed up ok... but my Pictures, Video, and Music files did not make it over to D:. :huh:
Any ideas why the files did not make it over? :sarc:

Well, I fixed it myself.....

I went into my Backup Settings, and cleaned out my old backups to start anew....

I added My Music first, and allowed it to backup.... good backup.

Then I removed that from my backup settings, cleaned the backup off to start anew...

I added My Documents.... good back. Remove from settings... clean backup...start anew.

Same for videos.....

But My Pictures on L was relunctant to backup.... so I removed it from the settings, cleaned the backups...

and REMOVED My Pictures on my L: drive from my Pictures LIBRARY.

Then I added it back to the LIBRARY (to reset the link in the Pictures LIBRARY).

and this time...

CLOSED the Backup and Restore.... and restarted the Backup and Restore....

Now I added My Pictures... and Voila.... it backed it up this time!!

Now I removed it from the Backup Settings... cleaned the backup from D:.... then CLOSED Backup and Restore.. started it again...

Now, I added ALL my items for backing up.... My Music, My Documents, My Videos, and My Pictures on L: drive to be backed up on my D: drive.
Along with a System Image.

Backed up, Finally !!

Somehow, the link to the My Pictures Library was causing the problem, I guess.
