I will be typing in almost any application and all of a sudden the cursor dissappears and nothing will show up as I type. Or the cursor will have skipped to a position in the text. Is this a key board thing or a windows 7 problem. It does not seem to matter what keys I am using.

If you have a built-in touchpad/mouse, why don't you check the 'sensitivity' setting options. That may be the source of the problem.

Hi William, welcome to the Seven Forums.

I noticed from your system specs you have a laptop. The single most common reason to this kind of behavior is a sensitive touchpad; even if user does not notice it, part of the hand touches touchpad when typing, causing involuntary mouse movements or clicks and cursor misplacement.

You can test if this is your case by attaching an external keyboard to your laptop and using that for a while. If this issue seems to be gone when only using external keyboard, that's it. To solve the issue on my laptops (this happened to me all the time), I have disabled touchpad on every laptop I have and I am only using an external mouse instead.

Kari

EDIT: Imperfect1 was faster... ;)

Graemzy, why can't you turn down the sensitivity level on your touchpad/mouse?

im not sure tbh, it seems as if ya can only change the speed at which it moves, not how hard ya have to press it to make it respond if ya know what i mean and thats the problem. ya only have to brush it really light to make it respond and that can happin a lot when typing fast. its a pain in the hole!
