wierdest problem with network driver

i did the fixit last night but still nothing
So i gave up and changed the monitor back to the original one i had prior.
Well I rebooted and it is showing devices and printers
I am going to give it a few days and see what happens.
It would be quite interesting to learn if it is indeed this samsung monitor that was causing all these issues.
I just cannot believe a monitor would do this but maybe it is too strong for this computer but i do have a high power video card on this one, it is the Raedon x1300
I put it in when i converted from xp media center to Vista and i checked to make sure all the drivers were compatible with windows 7. and it has not given me any problems since
I will let you know because as said it is intermediate depending on how many reboots i do

well actually this did not make a difference- the only thing that got better is things load faster but i still cannot see the devices and printers---------
if no one else has a suggestions i guess i will have to do a repair of windows 7

to do a repair i have a few questions.
I read your directions on how to do a repair but:
1. this computer was done as an upgrade from xp media center then to vista and finally to windows 7 home premium (of course over a few years)
I have the upgraded windows 7 disk that i purchased.
Can I do a repair with this disk?

2. Since the repair is done inside the existing windows, will it wipe off all my programs that are on it now? Like office 2007 etc?

3. How about my documents? (i do plan to backup the documents prior to the repair anyway but i was just wondering)

4. Looking at your directions (i printed them out) it looks like i am doing a real upgrade again since it tells you to click on the Upgrade option which i did when i first installed Windows 7.
How does it know to repair instead of wiping out windows 7 and starting all over or does it actually wipe out everything (drivers, programs etc) and am i actually reinstalling windows 7 and starting from scratch? because it was a b***H doing this all in the first place, took me hours which i will never do again, but i actually did it as a learning experience.

5. I did a system image prior to all this happening. Do you think i should try this first and if that doesn't fix it then do a repair?

I really need to know before i go and do this

I will try anything- i do have the system rescue disk i created

Just in case this doesn't work can anyone please answer my questions i asked above?

here is something real interesting
I had avast free on this machine and decided to uninstall it and go with MSE around the same time i was having this problem.
Before i decided to do a repair or startup repair I went into the settings of MSE and unchecked "Enable Network Inspection System" and rebooted.

All the Devices and Printers now show. Well i felt maybe i should wait a few days and see if this is just a coincidence.

For the past 3 days after doing this so far it is showing up.
Maybe there is a conflict with MSE with this being checked? maybe there is a bug in MSE?

Time will tell, I am going to give it some more time since it did happen intermittently and see if this resolves the problem.
