After installing Windows7 Ultimate x64 on a EEE PC Asus 1215B Seashell serie, the button which toggle wifi did not work anymore, like any other keyboard function keys (less importante now).
When I log on I receive a message in a popup windows which says: You must install ATK0100 driver!!! I had installed the P4GX before noticed the problem.
I've tried to install the driver downloaded from asus support site but I receive an error message in a pop-up windows, without any clue about what the problem is. Nothing is registered in Device manager, nothing is found in Registry, no file related to atk* in \system32\driverstore\filerepository. It's not possible remove nor reinstall, cause nothing bad remains after my failed installations. I've tried many times, with Troubleshoot Compatibility and Run as administrator (my regular user is also an admin). After executing the driver app, one command prompt appears showing the log of the installation process, and all of sudden disappear. No control about it. It's only possible to read the upper case word FAILURE before the window close. No log is found. It works when I restore the machine to W7 Starter that comes from factory. I dont know how to get the drivers inside the hidden partition.
Please help.

I dont know how to get the drivers inside the hidden partition.
Do you want to insert drivers into the hidden partition?

Or do you want to investage the hidden partition by making it visible?
Did you try to install driver in "safe mode"?

and select the ATK driver. unzip to empty folder. rightclick install.cmd and run as administrator? any failures?
maybe better to start an "elevated command prompt" and go to that folder and do:
install.cmd

there's not much in that file it only does:
PNPINST64.EXE 2KSETUP.INI

Does is install succesfully? Post error messages
contents 2KSETUP.INI :

HardwareID=*PNP0303

Does it list something new in device manager? or new hardware detected? maybe a reboot is needed.
Post error message.

Does your wifi toggle key and other function keys work now?

It's a drastic solution -- but I used it to install drivers on Win8DP (while I was running it) when I was unable to find the drivers anywhere.

Make an image backup of the current PC state to an external drive. I use Macrium Reflect for this, but there are other options like Paragon and Acronis.

Restore the PC to the original Win7 Starter -- this is to get the working driver back.

Download and install Driver Backup. Use the utility to copy off all the working drivers to a USB stick.

Restore the PC from the image backup you made.

Insert the USB stick with the driver backup.

Go to Device Manager and have it access the USB stick to find the missing driver. Point it to the top of the directories saved there and have it search the subdirectories. This should work.

I have an ASUS M2N68-AM SE2 and an M4N68T-M V2 motherboard. I had to install the ATK driver manually for both. If memory serves me an unknown device shows up in device manager with a yellow ! next to it. I right click it and select update driver. Then I browse to the ATK driver folder and it updates. I don't think the ATK driver has anything to do with your WIFI or other keyboard special keys not working. I know on my Acer Aspire some of the buttons didn't function with the default windows drivers, but once I installed the latest Acer supplied drivers they did. Even after that I had to install the Acer Lauch Manager to get the last few special keys to work.

My 2ketup.ini is:

Nothing appeared in device manager. The unknow device did not work with the atk driver. I will try every step again.
Reboot done (many times). Wifi works fine, but dont turn off, neither by button nor by FK-2.

alphanumeric, I agree with you, but I have already installed the asus drivers and nothing changed the situation. Because that I am trying to fix the (maybe) last error visible in my netbook. I will try again installing the drivers, anyway.

I want to investigate the hidden partition to look for the driver used by the recovery tool which comes with the setup.

The hidden partition likely contains an image of the factory setup. The recovery utility just restores the image. If so you will have a hard time recovering the drivers from it in any kind of easily usable state.

One way around this may be to use the anytime upgrade option instead of actually installing Ultimate. It would have been easy to do originally but could be problematic now depending on whether you can restore to Starter again or not. Going back to Starter using the recovery utility should install all the original drivers and restore functionality to the buttons. It should be just the way it was the first time you turned it on. Then just use the anytime upgrade option to unlock the Ultimate features. All you should have to do is enter your Ultimate product code. The glitch in this is that installing Ultimate may have broken the link to the recovery utility when the boot record was overwritten.
