Wifi dropping because of heat?

hi

whenever i am playing games on my laptop
the wifi drops a lot..
i know there are inteferences like phones and microwaves and such, but
is it possible that is because of heat in the wifi card area on my laptop?

I am having this trouble since a long time..
changed wifi settings, a lot of things around..
just cant seem to fin the issue

I doubt it's because of heat or interference, unless you have a really really cheap machine.

IF the game does not need wifi to work, the most likely is because of power mode options. That is computer puts the card in power saving mode since there is no need for it, and its performance degrades.

it is an online game
it actually happens randomly (as much as i know)
and when i touch under my laptop, it is really hot (i also use things to lift up the computer)

you sure it actually happens only while playing? Are there other wifis in your areas (the most likely cause of interference)?

try altering the power options anyway from here, so that the wireless card is always at "max/best performance" in the power setting you use while playing.

If it's too hot to keep hands on the hot surfaces (the bottom of the lappy I suppose), buying a dedicated laptop cooling pad is a very good idea regardless of this particular issue. Too much heat does put a strain on components, reducing lifespan. in this post I said some tips about buying one.

You might want to consider buying a good cooling pad for your laptop, it helps reduce the temperature.
