Solved wifi to lan...will it work?

Hi there,

This probably won't work but I am just wondering if it was possible. Basically, you know you can use windows to create a mini wifi hotspot with your wifi card but you have to have it plugged in with an ethernet cable? Can you reverse this? So basically, you receive from your router with your wifi card and then send the internet down your ethernet cable to another device? The speed of the internet doesn't matter. Any help would be much appreciated.

Music Guy,
What would you be using this for if you dont mind me asking? If it is something like Xbox 360, I think there is a way for that. Any more information would be very helpful.
Ben

Well, it would be used for various things, one laptop doesn't have a wifi card so will be using it for this. Also, when a laptop's card doesn't like linux, it can still get internet. Finally, I maybe using it for a raspberry pi if I decide to get one. It will only be general browsing, no online gaming, video calls or anything. Thank you for replying, hope you can help me!

Found @ How do I make a network bridge?

1. Plug in your console (WII, Xbox 360, PS3) and allow it to acquiring ip address.
2. click on the Windows button and type "network and sharing center" and enter
3. on the left right under manage wireless networks, should say change adapter settings click that
4. right click local area connection and disable it.
5. right click local area connection and click properties.
6. there should be a tab that says sharing go to that tab.
7. there is a box that says allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection. uncheck it if it is checked.
8.hit ok then right click local area connection and enable it.
9 now select both your wireless network connection and the local area connection and right click and it should have the option to bridge connections. when you click bridge it will do its thing and should work when its done.
