Wifi

Need some help. I do not need or use wifi, but laptop comes with it anyway. I tried to disable in device manager, because for some reason it takes to long to load at bootup. Anyway after I disabled it and restated laptop it still loaded. How else can I stop wifi from starting up, and while at it remove taskbar icon.

there should be a button or key combination somewhere on your laptop keyboard that will turn it on/off.

I hear ya, on mine the F12 key doubles as a wifi on/off swith, however when turned off Windows 7 still loads it, only to display a wifi disabled message.

you've changed your system specs since i posted - i thought you had an hp pavillion blahblah!



you could try customizing your notification icons, and set the wifi indicator to 'hide...' or try click on the icon >> open network and sharing options >> click on the blue 'wireless network connection' text, and press the 'disable' button.

Sorry about that chief, I was going to change it and missed it by that much.. Any way i'll give your suggestions a try.
