Hey guys i am soon getting new hard ware and i would like to know if i will need to do the BIOS set up thing, this will be my first time doing it and i do not have a clue what i will be doing. I am getting --- AMD FX 8320 ASRock 990FX Extreme9 motherboard
I do not know if i will need to do it and how will i do it?

It depends on the hardware...generally speaking your approach should be to leave the BIOS alone, unless the hardware specifically requires an updated BIOS.
Since you are getting a new motherboard, you automatically receive a new BIOS - its built into the motherboard. You don't need to do anything to the BIOS

You may have to set some things in the BIOS, but most likely it will find the main components of your system automatically. You should get documentation with your MoBo which should cover most of the settings you might want to tweak.
I agree with Golden.
Leave your bios as they are. Do Not update your bios. New motherboard bios very seldom cause problems. Messing with your bios when not needed can put you and your computer in Heart Break Hotel.
When you system is up and running for a week or so without problems and you want to learn some over clocking we have members that can help.
The first tool you need when working with a motherboard is the motherboard manual.
Read and understand it. I can't state how important that is.

Be prepared to look things up on your favorite search engine for better details AND advice.
....and welcome to higher tiered hardware! A 990FX is going to be quite complex in the BIOS.
Example of expected poor info is Spread Spectrum, there is one to start with on getting info about, and yeah leave disabled will probably be your ultimate answer on it.

I would start with system default setting in BIOS. Press the delete key on start up, this well get you into BIOS. F7 loads optimized defaults and F10 saves and restarts. You well be golden after that. Those two well play well together.
