Will MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) still be supported after Jan 2015 for Windows 7?
Windows 7 goes into the extended support phase after Jan 2015 unless Microsoft delays that.

Security updates will be provided for several years after the Jan 13 date, MSE will be supported until about 2020

It is only the mainstream support for Windows 7 that ends in Jan 2015. For XP this was in April 2009. Support for MSE will continue until January 2020 when extended support ends. Windows Update will continue to work after that date but no new updates will be produced.
