Solved Will not Boot after win 7 update

My laptop: Dell Studio 17/1745, Win 7 Pro 64 bit.

I have not used it for awhile so I updated Java, and Win 7 -20 update files. The 20 files were downloaded and i clicked on reboot now. The computer loads up to opening windows and then it just hangs there without any error message or anything. I shut it down and rebooted but it 's the same, just get the window screen and hangs.

How long have you left it? - sometimes it can appear to hang, but it's simply processing things rather slowly for whatever reason.
90+% of the rime it will eventually progress to the next stage. I'd leave it for at least an hour before attempting to force a reboot.

If necessary, try booting to the Repair environment, and using System Restore or a Startup Repair to see if that will get you in.
