Will not save software licence keys & activation code.

Have loaded a software program, R:Base for windows on my new 64 bit Home premium.
It will not save the key or activation code, which must then be re-entered every time you start the program. Where should I look to fix this?

Did you try to run that file as Administrator?

yes, we tried running under administrator. Interestingly, if you do a regedit, the license key and activation code are not being saved there.
