Win 7 32 bit Installation Freezing

I am running a custom built (myself) computer.

Asus P5n32 E Sli
NVidia 8800GT
Intel Q6600
WD Raptor 10k 72 GB
WD 250 GB
2GB OCZ Plat Ram (I got 4 but took 2 out for now)

This system no matter how many times I have burned Win7 or Vista, I get to the windows starting screen where the 4 colour window is flashing (looks like a waving flag) and after awhile it just freezes and will not go on from there.

Every other version of XP I have tried installs no problem. My DVD drive is fine, the Win7 ISO has not been touched by me and has been tested by thousands of people with all + feedback.

I would like to do a fresh install, but can't get past this. Any help? I am running the 1601 bios, its one of the newer stable releases for this board (back then), the newest bios is 1801 but not as good. I would much rather not lose my over clocking settings if possible.

I would say give up the over clocking until you can get it installed & stable first

Here is my list of pre-saved Questions for newcomers:

What build # & Version of the Win_7 ?
Where did you get the iso file from ?
How did you burn the DVD ? At a slow x4 speed ?
Any Over Clocking of ram or cpu ?
Best to have 2gb ram or less for initial install !
Suggestion, remove everything not essential to loading Win_7, from the system.
No printers, gamepads, second monitors, scanners, external devices, flash drives etc...

So just ignore the answers to the ones you have already posted an answer

How about setting everything in the Bios to default ?

Are you booting the setup directly first from the DVD, or doing setup from in XP ?

Where did you get the iso file from ? It has been Iso verifired, and from a very very legit source
How did you burn the DVD ? 4x with Nero

I got it to work. Before I even came back here to check up on replies, I was very impatient at 1am.

I took out my second HDD, removed 2 gigs of ram after the install since I kept blue screening for memory and pnf list errors. I updated my bios and removed the overclocking.

It made it to the blue window with the mouse then froze, I restarted and tried again and it loaded after about waiting 15minutes and I finally saw the install screen for the first time. The install was not to smooth and I had my doubts but it did make it through. How ever, since I was having blue screens every 2 minutes, it was a bitch to install drivers once windows was finally on. Most of the vista drivers did not work (there was only one actually designed for win7 that I could fine on nvidia) but restart after restart I was able to get them on and now windows runs really good.

Only crashed once since I got everything put on, all do to the updates. But I am loving it now and look forward to tweaking it.
