Hi all

I used to run the RC win 7 64 and never managed to get all my speakers to work on my T7900 7.1 setup.

I now have the 32 bit final version and they still don't all work. I can only get the front 3, incl sub and the 2 sides to work (one quiet) - although the sides that do work, windows thinks are the rears

Any ideas? I'm only using the onboard sound on a gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G which I know is a 4 year old Mo/board.

P.S, the cable that runs from the sound ports on pc to the rear of the sub is a 3 in to 4 wire cable. For some reason there is only 1 grey connector (side spearkers), when there are 2 of the each of the others (green/front, rear/black, orange/sub/centre)

Any help appreciated

hi did you try and configure the sound manager and the windows manager> control panel > Sound > playback > speakers > configure it to 7.1 . Then click on all the speakers and listen if the sound goes thru the right speaker.

Hope this will work Good luck

UPDATE

I purchased a 4:4 cable now and when I configure the speakers in control pannel/sound, I can get all speakers to work OK!!

However when Im playing music in JET AUDIO, I still only get the fronts and sub playing. The configure settings in JET AUDIO just lead me to the settings in the control pannel which I had already set up.

Any ideas please?

Unless the source is 5.1/7.1/surround all you will get is stereo without using some sort of upmixing; CMSS3D, speaker fill, DDL, etc.

Stormy13 is right but I play my music and movies that is 2.1 in Media player classic I post this post 3days ago read it And try it I did and working great

Good luck .

Problem:
HI I have the same problem in XP when I was watching movie or listing to music, it was playing thru all the speakers (5.1)not true 5.1 . But in Win 7 only the front 2 speakers (Stereo 2.1).

It is Right that in Win 7 it plays thru the front speakers (Stereo 2.1) WHY Because mp3`s are only Stereo 2.1 and about all 700MB movies.

True 5.1 is for 5 channels Front 2 ,Rear 2 and Front Center . The Movie or Music HAS to HAVE IT

and to enable the matrix is BS it sounds like CRAP (ticking the room option)

Solution:

On Win7 I Listen to music and watch movies on Media player Classic. WHY because it Can enable the channels I need, this is the only player that I could fine that can do this.

Here is what to do in it to Get sound thru all 5 speakers NOT TRUE 5.1 Sound also works with more speakers All the same sound thru all the speakers and doesn`t sound like Crap

a 5.1 Movie that has 5.1 will win 7 automatically get it This is The only player that Plays SPDIF (Optical) The right way. But you have to Check the SPDIF in your Sound Manager and in the player (This is not for music)

Because Win 7 don`t do it Self when trying to play a Dolby Surround 5.1 DTS .....

SOLVED>> for anyone else who is having this issue now <<Solved

Click on the start menu > Control Panel > Sound.

Left click on the speakers tab once and then at the bottom of that window click configure.
All the settings for various speaker outputs will be in there and then you can use Creative Control Panel to configure the rest of your settings.
