Hi, i just started with my new website; but running a localhost is not working out.
Both wamp and Xxamp versions aren t running on both my Windows 7 Home Premium based computers. I have set all the services necessary to automatic and I m running Microsoft security essiantals as my antivirus
Is there a windows alternative for xxamp en wamp server which is running ok on Windows 7 64 bit computers?
Thank you very much for all your tips

Hi all

if you want to change the apache port on wamp then go through the menu options and find the httpd.conf file, the following is what mine shows
Code:
# Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
# prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
#
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 80
#
change listen 80 to whatever port you want to use, then start apache... similarly you should be able to change the port of xxamp to whatever you want if that too will not start.
netstat -a will show you if the port is in use on your system in the first place, thought if both apache services will not start then you will have another service using port 80... in this case you will need to find out what is using it first.
Hi sorry for my late reply and thanks very much for your answer
I haven t installed ISS and will change port settings as how you explained...
