Win 7 64bit Install Fail (easy fix likely)

This will probably be easy for someone to help me with, and I'm gonna attempt another install when my new HDD gets here, I wanna use a second drive.

Anyways, it installed, and everytime it got to the part where the welcome screen was juuuust about to show up, it would restart. Safe mode, every version of safe mode, got me to the wecome screen, but only an instant, then restart.

Windows Vista Ultimate is my primary OS, Win7 install was onto D: partition. Anyways, I removed the Win7 from boot option, and my problem is, no matter what I do, I can't get rid of the Win 7 files on my D:\ root, like program files, windows, etc etc. I think there's free programs out there to remove stubbern files, but I want this just gone, cause I plan to keep the partition for game installs.

Thank you soo much for any help, Microsoft wants $59.99 for an answer, noooo way. Hehe.

Bump: I will only bump once, don't worry. There was a lot of action yesterday and this may have been missed. I'm almost certain there's an application of some kind to remove stubborn files/folders, if I recall it doesn't during a reboot, so the system can't interrupt. Please any help. I promise no more than a bump.

How did you create the D: partition, through vista's disk management?

If so you can just delete it from within vista, no?
