Win 7 64bit Recovery Issues

Folks,

Redid the core components of my computer (CPU, RAM, MB and GPU) whilst utilizing the HD from my previous PC (A Dell XPS). I know I need to reinstall the OS, but the boot feature does not allow me to scroll between the options nor does it prompt me to do anything else. I've changed the boot sequence to both my optical drives as the 1/2 option (both are from the Dell as well) and even that doesn't work. The same pattern repeats itself.

Restart
Post
Boot options (no manipulation available)
Windows Screen
BSOD

Restart
Same as above but sans BSOD
Windows repair
Then nada

Are the OD's detected in BIOS setup? Reset the BIOS to see if Boot order becomes accessible: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Try booting Partition Wizard bootable CD which will boot itself. Then you'll know if a disk is even read by the OD and can boot. If so, wipe the HD from the Disk tab after highlighting Disk #.

This should in turn force the Win7 installer to boot itself.

The OD's are recognized in the BIOS. The last two boot options actually. I assume it's safe to run the partition wizard from another PC and just use the disk I create there and pop it in my new rig?

About flashing the CMOS, everything (except OD's and HD) are new components, will it even be an effective step for me to perform?

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update.

As long as you burn the CD using WIndows Image Burner, ImgBurn or similar it should work.

Where did you get the WIn7 installer? How was it burned?
