Win 7 64bit reinstalation problem.

With Tuneup Utilities you can change the boot screen ( don`t advise it ) the logon screen ( never had a problem ) or even the look of windows itself. But of course it`s not free.

If Alienware/Dell provided you with a Reinstallation DVD then they should support you getting it put back the way you want it - unlike many manufacturers who won't support a Clean Reinstall. I would Chat with them with tag number or go to Alienware forums to see what they say. It may end up requiring Factory Recovery to get that particular background on the Log In page but since they provided the disk to clean reinstall they may also help you do it yourself. http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/alienware_support/alienware_support?s=dhs

Did you use the Alienware Reinstallation DVD you mentioned in first post to do the reinstall? If not the feature may be baked into it along with other Alienware branding and pre-activation.

Yes i did, i needed to use the reinstal cd, and then use the program cd which had drivers, avatars etc on it.

As it says in the steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 you should use the drivers which come with the installer and are quickly updated via optional Windows Updates. After several rounds of Updates any drivers still missing in Device Manager can be found on the Alienware Support Downloads webpage for your model. The drivers in the disk may be older than these. I would not change out any drivers given by the installer or optional Updates as Win7 is the authority on its drivers.

Did you check the Drivers disk to make sure you didn't miss the Log On theme? Also check the Alienware Downloads webpage for your model.
