I am typing this from my android tablet because my laptop has been updating for the last 2 hours. The screen says installing update 1 of 6. Is this normal for an update to take so long?

This is my first experience with win 7.

I am running win 7 home premium on an HP laptop, dual core Intel processor, 2 gig ram, 500 gig hard drive with 350 gig free

Update.....now on update 2 of 6 and going on 3 hours. Please tell me this is not the norm.....

Thank you. I didn't want to have to reload windows. Turns out it got hung up on the malicioul removal tool. Once reloaded all is well

glad to hear all is well.
Info for the future, when malicious software tool is updated, then Windows run the tool to make sure that there is no malicious software. In other words, expect that once a month you will have a "delay" when applying updates. The malicious software tool is updated monthly.

hey, i put off the update a little because i normally don't normally like restarting my computer at a random time, so i waited till today and whilst i was out the update had managed to install and restart completely. But after a while i got a blue screen of death for the first time with this computer in about 2 years. I have no idea what might be wrong, please help.
