I've got a Windows 7 box that's broadcasting from it's IP (as opposed to 0.0.0.0 like when it's trying to get an IP address), UDP port 68 to UDP 67 every 62 or 63 seconds. That's more than a little excessive. How dow e get it to settle down?

DHCP will attempt to renegotiate the lease with the server periodically so that the lease isn't accidentally given up. This is normally done about half way through the lease time. If the server doesn't respond then it will continue to try and communicate with it.

As a question, is the address given one that was reserved on the server itself? Also, can you do an ipconfig /all and upload the results here. This will allow us to see if there are any other interfaces that may be doing this.

As a test, you may want to see if setting a static IP address will cease the DHCP discover messages.

Josh :)
