Win 7 Can't Find '::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}'

When I try to get into the advanced settings in a few applications, I receive the error:

::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}\0\::{17CD9488-1228-4B2F-99CE-4298E935E...

Windows cannot find
'::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C9..\pageAdvancedSettings?pszAppName=XnViewMP'
Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

The specific case above was received when I clicked the File Association button in XmViewMP.

Here's what I've done (none of which has solved the problem)...

• MBAM
• SuperAntiSpyware Pro
• SFC /SCANNOW
• SfcFix (3,0.1.0)
• Created a new user & profile
• Copied main user profile to new user & reassigned it as the default user/profile using ForensiT's User Profile Wizard
• Booted up into the new account and profile

The two malware scans found nothing of significance, but I let them perform the repairs they recommended anyway. SFC only reported problems with the Speech files, which I never wanted anyway. SFCFix corrected this with copied from the Win 7 install DVD.

If this was limited to XnViewMP, I'd just live with it. But other apps and control panels fail due to the main problem.

What now? Repair installs of Win 7 never work for me -- it fails ridiculously easily if you install or do pretty much anything non-Microsoft before making the attempt. But I emphatically don't want to re-install Windows 7 from scratch because I have scores of applications and utilities and misc tools, which would take an absurdly long time and considerable effort to re-install.

Any other options?
