My OS (Windows 7 Home Premium) is not restarting. When I restart, it just shows "Shutting down...."... Nothing happens.

I just have to push the power button to force switch off and then turn on everytime.

Help me out. Thanks.

Hi there, open Run and type shutdown -r -t 1 and press enter. It will restart your computer.

OR

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control and double click on waittokillservice and set it to 2000. then restart the pc.

I'm having the same issue on my laptop, try to restart and it shuts down most of the way but keeps power until I do a hard shutdown then restarts fine.
I tried the HKEY edit and it didn't help running check for HDD errors now
