Would some body look at their file tree for me. I have something in mine that is curious. C:\ProgramData\ApplicationData\ApplicationData\ApplicationData\----and so on until the file name
is too long to read. This happened to me once when I was running the RTM version. I don't remember
what I did to solve it. This time I stepped down in the tree and was going to delete up thru the
tree until I only had one ApplicationData left. When I deleted the first one the whole thing
disappeared. OK so I rebooted to see how bad off I was. System booted into Win normally and
everything seems to be allright. This sounds like a bug in explorer. I now have no directory C:
\ProgramData\ApplicationData

Okay well....this is easy. You altered the permissions of ApplicationData which is a junction that points directly back to its parent causing an infinite loop. You see you are denied access to these junctions FOR A REASON.

It's happening all the time. Unfortunately, on forums, all kinds of help and suggestions get thrown into the ring. Some are good, some are b.awful. Unfortunately, the forums are for general reading and even a total newbie will act on info received and read. There is no solution to it, except to wait until the poor user comes back with he next problem!

Within the last couple of weeks, I wrote a warning regarding these permissions and "junction" folders.

I am sure other members have advised the same thing. Brink may even have some sound advice in his tutorials??
Such, really important, things could be pinned, but how to bring them to a newbies attention.
.. You can take a horse to water...etc
