I agree. If you run the second disk, you will get all of the bloatware larded in.

Win7 installer is excellent with drivers, with newer ones quickly arriving via Windows Updates.

Any missing drivers can possibly be plucked from Disk2, or find them on the download page for that Acer model here: http://us.acer.com/acer/service.do?...tx1g.c2att92=453&ctx1.att21k=1&CRC=2054404012

sorry about posting in the wrong place and thanks to all for trying to help . i went back to his house and he had magically found the instructions on how to load . i still think there are issues that maybe only a win 7 reinstall would work , i loaded the dvd with the drivers in it and the internet still has issues .i did go to the acer link and downloaded anything that remotely implied internet and ill install those drivers .thanks for the link and help.

Did the second disk have the sponsored bloatware in it? Was it really necessary?

Win7 Installer has almost all drivers, and the rest are on the Acer product download page.

no there didnt seem to be any , it was some kind of update tool which did download and install a couple of updates ,nothing that helped anyway.the instructions did say to load acer dvd first /then win 7/then acer dvd again. he had loaded win 7 first,so still not sure where his computer is at.the error messages he was getting at start up were d-link errors.
