win 7 free?

I remember getting an email a while back about getting a free copy of windows 7 for running the feedback tool for 3 months straight, and submitting feedback atleast once. Anyone else get this email? Do you think I will actually get a copy? Not sure who to talk too, to get a true answer.

The release candidate is still available at MS for a short while, I believe.

Nope, never received any email to that effect, and I've been running it with and sending comments at least a couple of times a week since before the public beta came out.
If You do hear anything else to that, Please post as cheap is good but free is definitely better.

I think the Free copies are to those that were enrolled in the official Win7 beta program.

Let's assume the email was vaild. The OP is misinterpreting the message in recall. Use the RC for free. Please provide feedback.

I got a free copy of Vista Ultimate for being in Windows Vista feed back program. (I think it was called that) I haven't seen anything like that yet for anything Windows 7 related.

Instructions and details for free RTM Windows 7



Details:

· Both the download option and the boxed product will include x86 and x64.
· In both cases your product key will activate your choice of one of these.
· Downloads will be available to members of the Technical Beta Program on August 6th.
· We are not offering evaluation copies as download therefore only those who choose download as an option will have access to the download images.
· We can only ship boxed product to the shipping address you have on file with Connect. Please make sure it is up to date.
· Because there will be a limited amount of boxed product available we will notify you no later than the end of day August 6th as to whether we were able to fulfill your request. If not, we will automatically convert your request to a download.
· Members of our international “Mini beta” efforts do not need to do anything yet. Starting August 6th you will be given access to downloads and over the next several weeks we will ensure all languages are posted and available to you.
