CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965
Motherboard: Biostar TA790GX A3+
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4770
RAM: 4gb Corseir

Windows is constantly freezing up, seemingly at random. Sometimes 5 mins after boot. Sometimes an hour. The mouse pointer stops responding and task manger won't open.

I've installed all the updates from Microsoft and also Biostar, ATI etc. But it has made no difference.

I've also tried a clean install of Windows on a formatted hdd. Same problem.

Eventviewer shows the following from about half an hour (I think) before the last crash:

"The ATICDSDr service failed to start due to the following error:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source."

This error appears 20 times in the space of 1 minute. Any relevance?

Also, this might be completly unrelated but I have 2 updates that refuse to install.
1. HID Non-User Input Data Filter
2. Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Detection Filter

I am finding this very frustrating as I can't get any thing done on my machine. And I really don't want to have to revert back to Vista!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try installing the latest 32/64 bit ATi drivers from the official site.

Also remove the old drivers, sometimes installs don't always work and a simple reinstall may work

I'm almost certain that the hardware is fine. I built this computer myself approx. 3 weeks ago. It's been running perfectly on Vista home premium x64. The problems have only started since i installed win 7

Have you any idea what the ATICDSDr error is about?

Do you have the latest Catalyst Control Center. If that doesn't fix it then its a hardware issue.

Arrrrrrggh! Well, I uninstalled CCC and attempt to reinstall but Win 7 wont survive long enough to complete the install.
This is so frustrating

Every thing seems fine in safe mode. At least for the hour or so that I used it

Finally got CCC installed. No good.

So I've now removed my graphics card and i'm using the onboard graphics. Windows booted, installed an update, rebooted and then crashed in exactly the same way as before after about 1 min.

Here's my .dmp
There is only one file despite the enormous amount of crashes. Is that normal?
I hope someone can figure this out. It's driving me crazy

Hi guys.
To anyone that is having similar problems:

I'm almost convinced that this has something to do with my wireless adapter.

If my computer is in the living room (near the router) i do not experience any crashes.
If the computer is in the office (weak signal strength) I experience constant crashes.
If the computer is in the office but the wireless adapter is disabled I experience no crashes.

I'm using a Belkin F5D7000 wireless adapter with the standard drivers from windows update.
There isn't any 64Bit drivers available on the Belkin website;

"These drivers will install on 32 bit operating systems but not on 64 bit systems, which is the normal and expected behavior." ,

Guess i'm going to have to buy a new wireless adpater

I'm having the same type of problems. Computer starts fine, but during normal use (and most often during playback of media files and during the use of WMC) the system simply freezes. The only thing I can do is hold the power button until the computer turns off and then restart it. Any ideas for what may be causing this?
