win 7 ftp filezilla won't connect - what's the latest?

hello, trying to use filezilla. won't connect. windows firewall set to allow filezilla through. I just use the ISP cable modem. don't think it's any special kind of router that I know of.
error message from network configuration wizard says:
Connecting to probe.filezilla-project.org
Connection established, waiting for welcome message.
Response: 220 FZ router and firewall tester ready
USER FileZilla
Response: 331 Give any password.
PASS 3.15.0
Response: 230 logged on.
Checking for correct external IP address
IP 66.91.27.46 gg-jb-ch-eg
Response: 200 OK
Failed to create listen socket, aborting
Connection closed


latest strategies to make filezilla connect?
went to some online ftp connection test site and it wouldnt work there either.

This line suggest that you're trying to use active mode to connect, which is doomed to fail in the vast majority of cases (you need to forward a port in the router and open it in the firewall). I don't remember if it's the default setting though. Posting the whole list of commands could confirm this.

Go to the settings and ask it to use passive mode instead.
