Well it happens again, I seem to have a curse against me and 64bit OS. This time its win7 :D.
The title says it really, since installing 64x version of Win7 ive have 2 instances of were 7 doesnt shut down, it gets to the point were the screen says "shutting down" and just hangs there. Also when it does shutdown the monitor goes of and then about 15 seconds later the pc turns of, has anyone else had these problems, might just reinstall 7 again.
My spec:
i5 750
Gigabyte p55-UD3r MB
4gb Corsair ddr3 Ram
Win7 x64
All latest drivers
Never really had this problem with any other os 64bit or not.

Blinky Hi and welcome

May just be as simple as turning off wake on lan in networking. could we have you look in event viewer (type eventvwr in search) go to the windows logs>applications tab and look for errors, (red lin left hand column) looking for app hang, app crash, or anythingrelating to the hang. when you find the errors (there will be a bunch) note the event ID and source and relay them to us

Thanks in advance

Heres the screenshot, it has 3 errors although they are not the correct time for when I tunred my pc off, other than that theres no errors. Also I always turn "wake on lan" as soon as I install any Win OS :).
Might have to either reinstall or just accept.

If you do decide to reinstall, make it a clean install. If your current installation is an upgrade that could be part of the problem

NOOOO I NEVER upgrade ;)., when I ever have issues of the smallest detail I know its gunna get worse so I just reinstall :D. Got a feeling I may have installed something 32bit and its doesnt like it.
But cheers for the advice will check through the links.

EDIT: Not much luck at the moment, you search eventID's and Microsoft are as usefull as a wet fart (sorry to the MS people and fans here :D), so might just resort to a reinstallation, wernt truly happy with this install anywooo :D.

Here is how to compile a log of shutdown peformance issues: http://www.ghacks.net/2009/01/21/ana...n-performance/
Good link BTW, I like learning stuff like this :).
