Hi, thank you for taking the time to read this.

problem: win 7 hangs on startup and freezes or BSOD 0x000000d1 within 1 minute usually.

system runs fine if I boot to safe mode.
no serious hardware or software changes around the time it started happening (that i recall) I didn't use my pc much for a few days and then the first time i noticed (around June 7th, 2012) I just logged in and there was a popup saying something like windows had recovered from an unexpected shutdown and the system was really slow and then it froze. Makes me think maybe a power outage corrupted something (i'm not on a UPS) or a windows update went badly.

After hours of 'googling' i am thinking maybe it's out of date drivers? (i almost never update my drivers)

i tried to update several drivers in safe mode but none were succesfull. Catalyst Install Manager says: "Failed to load detection driver"

sfc /scannow reported no violations

perfmon /report gives me....
"Error:
An error occured while attempting to generate the report.
The system cannot find the path specified. "

My oldest system restore point says June 7th, 2012 so i did restore but it still has the problem.

I built the system 1-2 years ago and haven't re-installed the OS since.

You have a RT73 USB Wireless LAN Card - Win7 doesn't like these devices.
Here's my rant about them:
I do not recommend using wireless USB devices. Especially in Win7 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 - and using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.
MSINFO32 file is corrupted (this may happen due to language differences). Please do this:
- Go to Start and type in "msinfo32" and press Enter
- When the utility opens, save a copy of it as an .nfo file, and another copy as a .txt file
- Zip them up and upload them with your next post.
EDIT: I managed to open the MSINFO32 file in Notepad (it's actually XML) and got most of the info that I needed.

Riva Tuner/MSI Afterburner/MSI Overclocker isn't compatible with Win7 (also EVGA Precision). Please uninstall it.

If overclocking, please remove the overclock and reset the system to default values while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system is stable again.

ATITool causes BSOD's in some Win7 systems. Please uninstall it.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please uninstall the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - FAQ

Some free alternatives (I don't use them, so I can't comment on them)
KernSafe iSCSI initiator, Virtual CD/DVD-RW Emulator, Virtual Encryption Disk and Virtual CD/DVD-ROM Emulator All-in-One free software.
MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor

Can't tell if you have AMD Overdriver installed, but if it is:
AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.
Please uninstall all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Uninstall". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

A rather confusing set of dump files - the relative lack of different BSOD error codes suggests a driver issue - but the number of different causes blamed suggests hardware (this is just an opinion, it's not a hard scientific fact).

So, let's start with the Verifier Enabled Memory dumps.
First, please turn Verifier off. You can do this by opening it and slelecting "Delete existing settings". Then click on Finish and reboot the system to make the changes effective.

As for the Verifier errors, they primarily blame pbfilter.sys - a component of Peer Block. Please uninstall the program. Feel free to install the latest Win7 compatible version AFTER the system is made stable again.

Your virtual machine stuff has drivers dating from 2008 - please uninstall it and then (if needed) install the most recent, Win7 compatible version.

Your Adobe file system driver dates from 2008. Please update your Adobe products (most often this is from the Adobe Reader) in order to fix this.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs
