Solved win 7 hp 64bits recognizes virtulization hardware?

i thought only ultimate and professional could use the xp mode. what's up.
so i downloaded the xp mode software and of course the program shows up but no folders or .exe files???? humm
also my win xp cd has used up all the validations any solutions? i need some programs that are not compatible in win 7. have the original xp ide hdd from old computer and a new pc with win 7 hp 64bit. i also have a win 8 laptop and a sabrent usb 2.0 external cable/power hook up. could any combo work?

why dont you dual install xp and win 7.

XP mode only runs under Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate. It also requires Windows VM. It's a business solution and not meant for graphic-intensive programs such as 3D games, nor is it well suited for programs with hardware requirements such as TV tuners.

thanks, but when i run the virtualization hardware detection tool it tells me i have the virtualization hardware in my windows 7 home premium 64bits installation. a bug?

Irrelevant.

Virtualization hardware detection says your HARDWARE is compatible with Windows 7 XP mode. But your OS, Windows Home Premium, is not.

Ditto what Mr. Miller says. All that utility does is check if your system supports hardware virtualization. And it does. You just can't run XP mode because it's not supported on Windows Home Premium.
