Windows 7 HP 64bit boot up slow

Hi , I just bought a laptop last month and it boot up very slow at the screen ''starting windows'' 30sec and log into the desktop background still need long time to wait the programs and wifi reciever to boot...
Laptop spec
2nd generation Core I5-2430m 2.4ghz-3.0ghz 2core 4 threads 3mb cache
640gb HDD 5400rpm
4gb ram DDR3 1333mhz 2x2gb
AMD readon hd6470m 1gb ddr3 graphic
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

I tried many ways like change setting in ''msconfig'' to timeout 30-3 but nothing happen and i stopped many program that i no use?

Anyone help?

Uncheck everything other than the antivirus in the msconfig startup tab, and see if it changes the situation .

Depending on the brand of laptop you have, you will need to remove all the bloatware that came preloaded. The software I've linked to helps with that.

Next, disable Windows services (list1, list2) that you don't need running.

And finally, in the MSCONFIG window, select the Diagnostic mode to see if it that makes any difference in the bootup time.

Your laptop's specs. are pretty decent, so there's no reason why the boot up should be slow.

Do you have updated drivers for your network devices? How does it run once it is booted up (that's the most important thing)? Did you do a clean install (always recommended) once you bought it?

I did a clean install on my Vaio and it runs great now. Not to mention I disk clean up and defrag once a month.

The problem is Very Slow 30-40sec at ''starting windows'' logo .... why??? and all service boot very fast except the wifi connector and graphic thing those things boot at last

After i done the steps of disabled microsoft service the boot up time still same just reduce my ram memory usage 3% and here the boot up time
Press start button to starting windows logo 13sec
Starting Windows logo to Password Protection 30sec
After type password to desktop background 60sec
Wait all service and program boot 2min 30sec
Total 4min 17sec ~

This is not normal. I have a similar laptop with an i5 (but with an SSD) and that boots in 15 seconds flat. My guess would be that your HDD is holding things up.

Run a chkdsk /r (will have to run that during reboot, but cmd will tell you). That chkdsk will take quite a while.

Follow these steps to Clean up factory bloatware.

Especially look over how to achieve a Clean Boot in msconfig because it doesn't sound like you did it at all if did anything ilke "steps of disabled microsoft service."
