Solved win 7 instead of win 8 installed on hp g6 2304 au - no direct x active

Hi,

the laptop I am working on is a HP G6 2304 Au - because of a Virus had to go back to WIN 7 Pro SP 1 -
which I did - now3 realising that no direct X activity in dxdiag? Tried to install all sorts of drivers so far but nothing changed in dxdiag. Cant run any game software ??? :-( Any Ideas?

Graphic card is Radeon HD (2.7Gh?) would be real cool to get some help... after 7 hours hardcore try...

OK, you are using the basic driver from the installer,

	Standard VGA Graphics Adapter

Have you checked windows update? That should give you a driver for it.

derekimo, thanks a lot but problem solved... direct X features are turned off as soon as there is a homegroup sharing center involved in the network options.

You're welcome, you do need a graphics driver though.

I'm glad you found a work around but you should check windows update for a graphics driver.

The ones from HP are for W8 for your model so the next best option is windows update since it's a laptop.
