Wow Iv'e been fortunate. I started with Windows 95, skipped 98, and me. used xp as long as I could. Now using 7 home premium and loving it. I'll watch 8 and probably wait for 9, but will use 7 until I can't anymore.

I, like many others, will skip 8 if it's a tablet-optimised OS. No one needs the latest Operating System, and Microsoft will still keep 7 up-to-date after the release of 8. No worries! :)

I think the percentage of Mac users using Win7 is higher than 5%. Bootcamp or VM (VMware Fusion, Parallels, VirtualBox). I have Win7 HP x86 installed in VM to keep the install footprint smaller from using a 240GB SSD.
