Hi:

Enviro (essential parts):

A new Win7 Pro machine acting as a web server. Loaded with Apache 2.2. This 'server' is located behind a router and is also on a local network with one other Win 7 Prp machine, and with two Win XP machines. One of the XP machines acts a the prime server (for now). The other XP macine is my development machine

I have NO firewall active on any of my machines.

Situation:

When I first hooked up my new Win7 pro machine a couple of weeks ago, it 'served' my pages properly. Then I noted that I couldn't 'push' files to this server machine from my XP development machine.

Ultimately, as of yesterday with a lot of changes to 'Network and Sharing' and use of netplwiz.exe, I can now push/pull files between my XP and Win 7 machines with no problem

New Problem:

But *now*, I can't visit my web site on this new server (where I could do so about a week ago without problems).

This next entry on the Firefox address bar works correctly and shows the first page of my site quickly and properly: Microsoft Internet Information Services 8 (where 4297 is the port where my router directs this web site). The access.log show the access was granted

This next entry I triedsomehow fails to get by my Win 7 machine's security: Website Hosting - Mysite.com and there is no entry in the access.log file on Apache that there was even an attempt --- absolutely empty

Question:

What must I do to the security or sharing on the Win 7 Pro machine to allow web site access to my server there ??

Thank you.

Hi:

Somehow, my 'examples' were changed !

What I wanted to say was that the 127.0.0.1 access was perfect, but the actual web address not allowed to be serviced by Apache.

Thanks,
