Good Morning Seven Forums,

As many of you may know by now that I have a vision problem called Macular DEGeneration. I require a lot of light and hi contrast. I need to keep monitor screen resolution to a pretty low level in order to get the text close to the size I can comfortable read, I use the built in magnifier which is tied to the task bar and easy to get to..

This question involves the various windows that a computer user brings in normal use, like the printer cue. This window is way to large to see the OK CANCEL OR APPLY buttons at the bottom. Most of them I am unable to resize the window and the only way I can move the window up is to place the cursor on the title bar and move it up, but unable get it far enough up to click the OK buttons at the bottom, so I have to minimize all the windows to get to the desktop increase the resolution to make these windows smaller, OK them then reset the resolution so i can read the text. If I change the dots per inch to help the text it does not help the window size and fouls up the text in Expression Web 4 my software to build web sites. The work around i have been using is pain in the catutsi.

Does anyone have a solution?? for the various message windows that are too big??

Does holding down the Ctrl key and using the mouse scroll key reduce these window sizes enough for you to work with it?

It's a great idea ashleyg but I'm under the understanding the OP already does that. I could be wrong.

Graphics Driver Settings?

I was experiencing glitches with my Graphics card.
(W7 would cycle through the available resolutions, before setting itself to 1600x1200.)

When I started XP, sometimes the display would behave strangely:

• It was still 1600x1200, but I could only see an 800x600 section.
• I could scroll the view around to see the entire 1600x1200 range though.

It was kind of like using the magnifier.

If that behaviour could be replicated deliberately, it might "solve" your problem.
Someone here may know how to do this.

Clarification
I was using a CRT monitor at the time.
The 800x600 section used the entire monitor display size (i.e. 1600x1200).

Pull top of Window down

Hi Just married,

When one of the windows you're talking about opens and you move it to the top of the screen place the cursor on the top edge of the window, it will turn into a small double ended arrow. Hold the left mouse button down and move the mouse down decreasing the height of the window. Then you can move the top of the window to the top of the screen again and get to the OK, CANCEL, APPLY, etc... that are at the bottom of that window. Depending on the size (height) you may have to do this more that once.

That only works on windows that aren't a fixed size.

It's bizarre that there are non-resizable windows.
